A Season of Celebration, Community and Giving Back

October has arrived, and at Love, Zoey, that means cooler days, busy ovens, holiday markets on the calendar and a very special reason to think pink. 🎀🐾

As we head into our first full holiday season, we’ve been reflecting on just how much has happened over the past few months. Love, Zoey has always been about more than simply baking dog treats. It’s about celebrating the dogs we love, the families who love them, and the community we’re fortunate enough to be a part of.

This fall brings all of those things together.

Paws for Pink Continues Through October 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our Paws for Pink initiative continues throughout the month.

Breast cancer has touched the lives of so many families, and we wanted Love, Zoey to find a small but meaningful way to help raise awareness while also sharing a reminder that wellness matters for us and for the pups who make our families complete.

Our dogs depend on us to notice the little things: changes in behavior, appetite, energy or simply something that doesn’t seem quite right. Regular veterinary wellness visits give us an opportunity to ask questions, identify changes and help keep the dogs we love happy and healthy.

Paws for Pink is our way of bringing those two reminders together: take care of yourself, take care of those you love, and don’t forget the pup curled up beside you. 💗

Lights, Camera…Cure! 🎬🎀

We were incredibly proud to bring Paws for Pink to Lights Camera Cure on September 26.

It was an opportunity for Love, Zoey to step outside the bakery and be part of something much bigger...an evening bringing people together in support of breast cancer awareness.

Of course, we brought a little Love, Zoey personality along with us.

Our pink-themed treats helped us share the Paws for Pink message while doing what we love most: meeting members of our community, talking about our pups and naturally, spoiling a few dogs along the way.

To everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation, supported the event or simply helped spread the message…thank you.

For a small local business, opportunities like this mean a great deal to us. They remind us that building Love, Zoey isn't only about what comes out of our ovens. It's also about the relationships we build along the way.

And Somehow…We're Almost ONE! 🎂🐾

This one is difficult for us to believe.

Love, Zoey turns one in November!

One year ago, Love, Zoey officially began with an idea, a love of baking, a very special poodle named Zoey and the belief that our dogs deserve treats made with the same kind of care we put into everything else we give them.

Since then, there have been a lot of cookies.

And Biscotti.

And Bacon Cheddar Bones.

And Frosting.

A lot of frosting. 

But there have also been markets, new products, new friends, returning customers, lessons learned, late nights in the bakery and more wonderful pups than we could possibly count.

Every order, every person who has stopped by our booth, every social media follow, every shared photo of a pup enjoying a Love, Zoey treat and every customer who has come back for another bag has helped this little bakery grow.

And we're incredibly grateful.

We'll be celebrating our first birthday throughout November, culminating in something especially fitting:

🎀 Love, Zoey's 1-Year Anniversary Pop-Up at Swoozie's on Small Business Saturday, November 28.

We'll share more about our anniversary celebration soon, so stay tuned. We may have a few Birthday surprises up our sleeve.

Or perhaps we should say under Zoey's paw. 🐾

The Best Part Is Still Ahead

As we move toward the holidays and Love, Zoey's first birthday, there's a lot to celebrate.

But perhaps what we're most grateful for is that what started as a little idea has begun to become a community.

A community of people who love their dogs deeply.

People who celebrate birthdays with them, take them on adventures, dress them up for Halloween, buy them Christmas presents and occasionally rearrange an entire household around where the dog has decided to sleep.

Our kind of people. 💕
